"My wife Anthea and I are passionate about helping people with all aspects of their Mortgage, Protection and other borrowing needs. We believe in providing honest professional advice and integrity is the cornerstone of our business".
Jacques Pienaar - Principal
Jacques has been in UK Financial Services since 1994 and prior to that in South Africa since 1989. He has had his own IFA business and has also worked for a number of well known companies including Eagle Star, Scottish Amicable, National Mutual and Standard Life. Jacques is a retired rugby captain and still enjoys the occasional Sunday cricket match playing for East Dean Cricket Club. Jacques also acts as an expert witness in family court proceedings. He regularly produces Mortgage Capacity Reports for solicitors and their clients to demonstrate clients' capacity to mortgage following divorce.
Anthea has been a Mortgage and Protection Broker since 2003, having worked as a Personal Choice Manager at Lloyds Bank for
a number of years prior to that. Anthea enjoys regular walks on the South Downs with the family and their dog, and she practices Yoga whenever she can make the time.
"When deciding to establish Protea Financial Services, Jacques and I decided to use our wealth of collective experience to focus on what we believe to be the area with the greatest potential for growth, and one that we both enjoy helping clients with, namely Mortgages and Protection . The Protea is South Africa's national flower, and as Jacques and I were both born there (and I love flowers) it seemed a fitting name for our business."
